We recently walked around the Marunouchi area of of Chiyoda to see Lightopia. The Marunouchi area is near the Imperial Palace.

One area of Lightopia had different types of fountains and water sprays. The fountains were programmed to change every few minutes.

From a distance, these trees appeared to be lit with Christmas lights. Once we saw the trees up-close, we realized they were covered with multi-colored flowers. The trees were lit from below by small spot lights.

There are a large number of high-end retailers in the area…

Construction of Tokyo Station was completed in 1914. In 1945, a large portion of the station was destroyed in during firebombings. Tokyo Station is currently being redeveloped to create a large walkway to the Imperial Palace. Over 4,000 trains pass through Tokyo Station every day!
